Goose Island Beer Company is a brewery in Chicago. The oldest currently-operating brewing company in Illinois , it began as a brewpub that opened in 1988 in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, and was named after a nearby island .
The warehouse also connected to the city's railway network, allowing the company to easily ship its goods across the country. Peck and Hills declined significantly during the Great Depression, and it sold its Chicago warehouse facilities in 1942.
