The Port of Texas City, operated by the Port of Texas City / Texas City Terminal Railway, is the eighth-largest port in the United States and the third-largest in Texas, with waterborne tonnage exceeding 78 million net tons. The Texas City Terminal Railway Company provides an important land link to the port, handling over 25,000 carloads per year.

Bremond is named for Paul Bremond (1810–1885), [4] entrepreneur and founder of the Houston, East and West Texas Railroad 1875, who owned the surrounding land. Years later, the new owner, cotton baron William Marsh Rice, whose first wife was Bremond's daughter, Margaret, had the town surveyed and named after Bremond.
Gregory James Caton (April 6, 1956 – December 15, 2021) was an American businessman, inventor, manufacturer, convicted felon, and promoter of various herbal products, the main one being Cansema, which Caton claimed cures skin cancer, [1] although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) banned it in 2003 as worthless. Thomas Stephen Caton (6 October 1962 – 30 April 1993) was an English footballer who played as a centre half for Manchester City, Arsenal, Oxford United and Charlton Athletic.
