Desperate Man (stylized in all lowercase) is the sixth album by American country music singer Eric Church. It was released via EMI Nashville and Snakefarm Records on October 5, 2018. Following the success of 2015's Mr. Misunderstood , Church reteamed with long-time producer Jay Joyce to work on new material for his next country album.

Church started his songwriting of the album on his guitar, nicknamed "Butter Bean" by his son, in the latter part of the summer. [1] Within just twenty days, he had twenty songs written for the album, when he went into the studio, where twenty days later after some recording sessions, the ten tracks that comprise this album were finished. [1]
