Holland Lops are one of the most popular rabbit breeds in the United States and the United Kingdom. They were first bred by Dutch breeder Adrian de Cock, as a hybrid of the French Lop and the Netherland Dwarf. [2] [3] [4] Holland Lops are miniature rabbits that only weigh about 1–2 kg (2–4 lb). [5]
The Mini Lop is a breed of domestic rabbit that is recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA). [1] It is different from the Miniature Lop breed that is recognized by the British Rabbit Council (BRC). [2] (In the UK, the Miniature Lop is sometimes called—for short—the "Mini Lop".)
The Miniature Lop in Britain is a relatively new rabbit breed, and it is descended from the first dwarf lops that were developed in the Netherlands during the 1970s. [citation needed] These are now called, in the US, the Holland Lop, but in the Netherlands, they are known as the Miniature Lop.
Dog, a curiously named miniature Holland Lop rabbit, was the mascot, brand ambassador and emblem of the theater company's quirky warmth and lived in the Renaissance office space.
There is also a Canadian Plush Lop, [citation needed] with the "curly" variant rex fur. Created using Astrex as well as Holland Lop and Mini Rex base stock, the Canadian Plush Lop is a curly breed. It has a more fully arched conformation than the other rex lops, is very bold and friendly, and excels at rabbit agility.

It originates from eastern Ohio in 1995 by Devie D'Anniballe, and was a mix of a Mini Rex and a Holland Lop. [124] [125] [126] Miniature Plush Lops are very delicate due to their small size. [127]
The additional weight of a longer or thicker ear is not always fully supported by the rest of the ear structure, resulting in ears that droop. The ears of some young lop rabbits may not achieve their full adult droop until the ear growth is finished. The ears of a lop rabbit prevent them hearing predators and maintaining a healthy body temperature.
