California Coast Classic Bike Tour (CCC) is an annual scenic bike ride, held annually since 2000 in the U.S. state of California. It is held over eight days and covers 525 miles along the coast on California State Route 1. The Tour starts at the Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco and ends on the strand of Los Angeles. [1]

The annual public Escape from Alcatraz triathlon, organized by IMG, now takes place in early June. The current course consists of a one-and-a-half-mile (2.4 km) swim starting near Alcatraz Island, a one-half-mile (0.80 km) run from the bay to the transition zone at Marina Green, an eighteen-mile (29 km) bike ride, and an eight-mile (13 km) run.
In 2006 the contract for the Alcatraz service was lost to Hornblower. [6] In 2011 Blue & Gold won the contract to operate the consolidated San Francisco Bay Ferry system, which subsumed the Alameda/Oakland and Vallejo routes and over the following decade grew to include four other cross-Bay commuter routes. The M/V San Francisco Belle, a paddlewheel style vessel, joined the fleet in 2001. The Belle, with a capacity of 2,200 is the largest dining yacht on the West Coast. The San Francisco Hornblower Hybrid, the first hybrid ferry in the United States, was completed in 2008 and serves visitors to Alcatraz Island and Angel Island in San Francisco Bay.

Bay Wheels is the first regional and large-scale bicycle sharing system deployed in California and on the West Coast of the United States. It was established as Bay Area Bike Share in August 2013. As of January 2018, the Bay Wheels system had over 2,600 bicycles in 262 stations across San Francisco, East Bay and San Jose. [1]
