Cancun Airport is the easternmost airport in Mexico. Cancun Airport comprises three terminals dedicated to scheduled flights (Terminals 2, 3, and 4), one terminal specifically for charter flights (Terminal 1), and an FBO terminal. The airport is situated at an elevation of 390 metres (1,280 ft) above mean sea level and features two runways.The primary runway, designated 11/29, boasts a 3,000 by 45 metres (9,843 by 148 ft) asphalt surface, equipped with an ILS approach system, VHF omnidirectional radio range (VOR), and DME station.

The 70,000 square metres (750,000 sq ft) passenger terminal provides standard international airport services in a two-story building separating departure facilities on the top floor and arrivals on the ground floor. It features check-in areas, a security checkpoint, arrivals facilities with baggage claim areas, taxi stands, and car rental services
It is linked to Terminal 1 through an open-air walkway starting at Entrance 1. The Terminal Aérea Metro station is also served by Trolley bus line 4 in the northbound direction, following a route similar to Metro line 2 but branching towards El Rosario metro station. Terminal 2, on the other hand, lacks a nearby metro station.
