The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) is the primary branch of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces responsible for land-oriented military operations. It is the largest service branch under the Zimbabwean Joint Operations Command (JOC).
On December 18, 2017, Major General Edzai Chimonyo was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General and was also appointed Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army. He served in this role until his death in July 2021 and was succeeded by Major General David Sigauke. [2]
