UF is by far one of the best value in terms of tuition. The facilities and labs are really quite impressive, with ample opportunity to work under a professor as an undergrad researcher. Professors join UF from around the world to do research there, so really some top-tier opportunities.
At UF, it would probably be harder to be one of the top-performing students. Is that a good thing? Would I be motivated at UF with the more competitive environment?

Long story short, UF is the highest ranking public university in Florida. The first thing I noticed when I got to UF was how smart everyone was. Almost every student was as smart as the top 20% of students in AP classes back in high school. UF is also extremely diverse.
UF has much better academics than FSU and is often seen as more rigorous. This is partially due to classes being harder, and just the fact that UF is harder to get into. For most UF students, FSU was their backup school, which shows quite a bit about the difference between the two.
