Spaulding Graded School (dedicated 1892) Spaulding High School is named after Jacob Shedd Spaulding (1811–1880) who was a teacher and principal of the private school called Barre Academy [2] established on what later became the site of the Vermont History Center [3] on Washington Street in Barre.
