Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, a 15,000-capacity stadium, is the largest high school football stadium in the Mid-Atlantic region of the nation and the home field for all three Allentown-based Eastern Pennsylvania Conference high school football teams, Allen, Central Catholic, and Dieruff high schools.
The 1898 football team at the Western University of Pennsylvania (WUP) was led by Dr. Fred Robison. Dr. Robison was a graduate of State College and former player who lettered on their 1894 team. He also played for the Greensburg Athletic Association. He was registered in the Dental School so he was basically a graduate school player/coach.
