The Friendly Islands Teachers' Association (FITA) is the only trade union of teachers in Tonga. [1] It is affiliated with the International Trade Union Confederation and Education International . [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The union is incorporated, but not registered.

[4] By 1980, 6,200 people of this origin were living in the US, and by in 1990 that number had increased to 17,600. [5]

Niua is a division of the Kingdom of Tonga, namely the northernmost group of islands. It consists of three islands (Niuafoʻou, Niuatoputapu and Tafahi) which together have an area of 71.69 km 2 and a population of 1,150. The largest village is Hihifo on Niuatoputapu. Piu'o Tafahi is the highest point with an elevation of 560 m.
