The Berner Oberland Bahn (BOB) is a 24 km (15 mi) long line from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. It begins at Interlaken Ost and divides at Zweilütschinen, about 10 km (6.2 mi) south of Interlaken. The western branch leads to Lauterbrunnen, while the eastern branch leads to Grindelwald.
The BLM commences from Lauterbrunnen, using a terminus that is directly opposite the platforms of the Berner Oberland-Bahn (BOB) to Interlaken, and the Wengernalpbahn (WAB) to Kleine Scheidegg and Grindelwald. The first section of the line is an aerial cableway that rises 690 m (2,263.8 ft) in a distance of 1.4 km (0.9 mi).
Trains on the Bernese Oberland line stop here as well, providing regular service to Interlaken Ost and Grindelwald. The station opened in December 2019, along with the rebuilt Grindelwald–Männlichen cableway.
