If so, you need to tap the gland into the barrel to relieve the pressure from the snap ring, remove the snap ring, then use the splitter hydraulics to remove the cap. Look on the cylinder for a Cat part number. Might be a # followed by a letter then a 4-6 digit #. Something like 6Y-8593.
Retract the cylinder and remove the elbow at the bottom end of the tube. With a bar or tire iron, spin the shaft until you see the recessed hole in the compression nut down in the inlet hole. Drop a proper sized bolt or pin punch or round stock in there and crank on the shaft (counter-clock-wise) four full turns or so.
First drown the thing with penetrating oil, then pull the rod all the way to the extended position and hit the gland firmly (not hard enough to distort the holes but hard enough to jar it into the cylinder tube), now take the screwdriver and gently work it under the retainer ring, and then try turning the gland.
Don't be afraid to try and get the cylinder apart..... and once its apart clean it and take it to a seal place and have them measure, or learn how to measure and you can save several hundred on the very first job. Oct 6, 2014 / Advice on buying hydraulic cyclinder repair seal #8.

I have a John Deere 110 TLB with a pretty steady leak around the seals on the bucket tilt cylinder on the FEL (cylinder is JD part #AH224917). If you can perform your own oil changes you can remove a cylinder. Should take 5-15 minutes. 1. Lower loader to ground and shut off engine. 2. Move loader control valve in all directions to neutralize energy. 3. Remove hoses with crescent wrench or open end wrench. Use a backup if necessary.

It is showing four hydraulic cylinders for each style of hydro cylinder. Four for the cylinder with the circlip and four for the cylinder without the circlip.
