Udawattakele Forest Reserve often spelled as Udawatta Kele, is a historic forest reserve on a hill-ridge in the city of Kandy.It is 104 hectares (257 acres) large. During the days of the Kandyan kingdom, Udawattakele was known as "Uda Wasala Watta" in Sinhalese meaning "the garden above the royal palace".

Ceratophora erdeleni, also known commonly as Erdelen's horned lizard or Erdelen's horn lizard, [3] is a species of lizard in the family Agamidae. The species is endemic to Sri Lanka . [ 4 ] It has only a rudimentary "horn", that is occasionally missing altogether.
The Hanthana Mountain Range lies in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, south-west of Kandy. It was declared as an environmental protection area in February 2010 under the National Environment Act. [1] The maximum height of the range is 1,200 m (3,800 ft). The mountain range consists of seven peaks. The highest one being the Uura Kanda. [2]
