The origin of the hospital goes back to its founding in 1925, when the formerly titled Cass County Hospital admitted its first patient on May 14. The 160 acre Andrew G. Shanklin farm, one mile southwest of Logansport, was purchased on October 4, 1883 while the citizens of Cass County donated 121 86/100 adjoining acres, making a total of 281 acres owned by the State of Indiana.
