The McCallie School is a boys college-preparatory school located on Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. The school was founded in 1905 and now has 322 boarding students in grades 9–12 and 657 day students in grades 6–12. [1]
In the very early years of the school, high school students took the courses of their own selection and, when they felt ready, went on to college-level courses. High school students lived in dormitories with college students until the 1800s. In June 2012, the school changed its name from David Lipscomb Campus School to Lipscomb Academy.
When initially founded, the school was named Tennessee Christian Academy. In 2008, school administrators increased academic rigor, tightened admissions policies and began to focus on providing college-preparatory education for all students. It was at this time that the school took on its current name, Tennessee Christian Preparatory School.
