Zayed International Airport (IATA: AUH, ICAO: OMAA) (Arabic: مطار زايد الدولي), also known as Abu Dhabi International Airport, is the primary international airport serving Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The airport was built in the 1960s, and in 1970, the airport was inaugurated as Abu Dhabi International Airport. [3] In 1982, a new airport was opened on the mainland southeast of the city to accommodate the increasing air traffic. In 1983, Al Bateen became a military airbase, [3] known as Bateen Air Base. [4]
From 1922 to 1926, Lansing's airport was Creyts Field, located 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the current airport. The 80 acres (32 ha) field was operated by Chamber of commerce Secretary Charley Davis. In 1925, Lt Harry Warner arrived in Lansing to help Davis and others select the current site for Capital City Airport. [9]
