The Land Camera is a model of self-developing film camera manufactured by Polaroid between 1948 and 1983. It is named after the inventor, American scientist Edwin Land , who developed a process for self-developing photography between 1943 and 1947. [ 1 ]
Using an instant camera. Edwin Land's original idea behind instant photography was to create a photographic system that was seamless and easy for anyone to use. The first roll film instant cameras required the photographer to use a light meter to take a reading of the light level, then to set the exposure setting on the lens.
Polaroid Swinger. The Polaroid Model 20 "Swinger" was a popular Land Camera produced by the Polaroid Corporation between July 1965 and 1970. At $19.95 (equivalent to US$193 in 2023) and weighing only 21 ounces (600 g), [1] it was the first truly inexpensive instant camera, a fact that helped fuel its enormous popularity and made it one of the top-selling cameras of all time.

[5] A negative sheet is exposed inside the camera, then lined up with a positive sheet and squeezed through a set of rollers which spread a reagent between the two layers, creating a developing film "sandwich".
Although popular, the Model 95 and subsequent Land Cameras required complex procedures to take and produce good photographs. The photographic paper for each picture had to be manually removed from the camera and peeled open after 60 seconds to reveal the image which needed to be hand coated with a chemical stabilizer for preservation.

The Land Camera 1000 is an instant camera manufactured by Polaroid Corporation. In the United States, it was marketed as the OneStep. Based on the Polaroid SX-70, the camera includes a one element 103mm f/14.6 plastic lens, fixed focus and an exposure compensation dial knob. It uses the SX-70 time zero film.
