[1] [2] On March 9, 2020 it was announced that Lakeport Auto Movies and the accompanying Lakeport Cinema 5 would be closed "for the foreseeable future" due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [3] The theaters were reopened on May 21, 2020. [4] As of June 2020 Lakeport Auto Movies was owned by Scott Lotter. [5]
Originally titled Lawless, the project was shot in Sonoma County, California, primarily in locations in Guerneville and along the Russian River. [2] The film was renamed to avoid confusions with other films of the same title and to better reflect " the atmospheric, rural setting in which it takes place, namely Guerneville".
The Museum closed in 1989 and the SCHS turned its collections over to the Museum of Sonoma County in 1989 [7] For more than 10 years, the SCHS held its 25-mile hike, first led by Jeff Tobes, then conducted in honor of the late Mr. Tobes. The hikes alternated between varying Sonoma County sites and San Francisco sites. [8]
