The Enlarged City School District of Middletown serves the City of Middletown, Orange County, New York, and adjacent areas. It operates six schools: Presidential Park Elementary School - Grades K-5; Maple Hill Elementary School - Grades K-5; William A. Carter Elementary School - Grades K-5; Monhagen Middle School - Grades 6-8
It is the only public high school in the Middletown City School District. The present location of the school was established in the fall of 1969, being moved from its original location at 1415 Girard Avenue. [4] The old high school was converted to Middletown Middle School for the remainder of its existence until demolished in September 2018. [5]
