The first to do so was the Snaefell Mountain Course, home of the Isle of Man TT, which also has the distinction, at 60.718 km (37.728 mi) long, of being the longest track which hosted a World Championship race.
Utah Motorsports Campus is a race track facility located in Grantsville near Tooele, Utah, United States. It operated under the name of Miller Motorsports Park from April 2006 until October 2015. [1] The course has hosted auto, motorcycle, bicycle and kart racing, along with corporate events.
The final day of the track was marred by tragedy when three drivers were killed in the 100-lap super-modified caged sprint car competition. [2] From 1949 to 1970, the track hosted the Golden State 100, a round of the AAA/USAC National Championship. The race was revived at the new Cal Expo site as a USAC Silver Crown race from 1989 until 2000.
In addition to SCCA events, the track also hosted USAC auto racing, AMA motorcycle racing, and kart racing during its life. The only events that proved marginally successful in making profit were rental events which were able to attract a modest attendance of spectators. The track never was able to garner enough cash to support the facility. [1]
