Sugar Creek Township was organized in the 1830s, and named after the Sugar Creek which flows through it. [4] Statewide, four other Sugar Creek Townships are located in Allen, Stark, Tuscarawas, and Wayne counties, plus a Sugarcreek Township in Greene County.
