With funding from Natural England, the Cumbria Wildlife Trust and the British Dragonfly Society have reintroduced a rare species of dragonfly, the White-faced darter, to the site from 2010. This is the first UK reintroduction of this species. [3] In 2014 ospreys nested at Foulshaw Moss. [4] [5] They have continued to breed at the site. [6]

Meathop Moss, 82 ha, [3] Nichols Moss, 7 ha [4] as at 2022 in the process of expansion [5] The site was designated an SAC in 2005. The bogs were already individually protected as nature reserves in the care of Cumbria Wildlife Trust and, under UK legislation, as Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
Galena is the largest city in and the county seat of Jo Daviess County, Illinois, United States. [7] It had a population of 3,308 at the 2020 census. [6] A 581-acre (235 ha) section of the city is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Galena Historic District.

[3] [6] The springs were Peoria's primary water source for about 15 years, until the population grew and a new water source close to the Illinois River was established.
