Truman State University (TSU or Truman) is a public liberal arts university in Kirksville, Missouri, United States. It had 3,636 enrolled students in the fall of 2023 [8] pursuing degrees in 55 undergraduate and twelve graduate programs. [5] The university is named for U.S. President Harry Truman, who was a Missouri native.

The Joseph Baldwin Academy, or JBA, is a summer program of two three-week sessions for gifted students going into grades 8-10.Founded in 1985, it is intended to provide opportunities for social growth as the students explore college life and take university-level courses.

According to Reed's Office of Admissions, "Reed College has actively questioned the methodology and usefulness of college rankings ever since the magazine's best-colleges list first appeared in 1983, despite the fact that the issue ranked Reed among the top ten national liberal arts colleges.
