Traditional Japanese theatre is among the oldest theatre traditions in the world. Traditional theatre includes Noh , a spiritual drama, and its comic accompaniment kyōgen ; kabuki , a dance and music theatrical tradition; bunraku , puppetry; and yose , a spoken drama.
Kyōgen (狂言, "mad words" or "wild speech") is a form of traditional Japanese comic theater.It developed alongside Noh, was performed along with Noh as an intermission of sorts between Noh acts on the same stage, and retains close links to Noh in the modern day; therefore, it is sometimes designated Noh-kyōgen.
It eventually developed into Begin Japanology (first broadcast on October 5, 2007 in Japan [3] and in other countries on March 14, 2008 [4]) Japanology Plus (first broadcast April 3, 2014) [5] [6]) is the most recent show. Other than the title, little has changed in the content or format.
A musumeyaku is flanked by two otokoyaku, c. 1935.. Though Takarazuka Revue gives the appearance of having been created to grant Japanese women freedom from social oppression, ironically, it was created with the opposite intention, with Takarazuka scholar Lorie Brau stating that "The production office and corporate structure that control Takarazuka are overwhelmingly patriarchal."
