Concord is a suburban industrial district in the City of Vaughan in York Region, located north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. According to the 2001 Census , Concord has 8,255 residents. It is accessed by two provincial highways : Highway 407 and Highway 400 .
It was founded by the Canadian franchise of U.S. toy retail chain Toys "R" Us; as of 2018, however, it operates independently and is based in Concord, Ontario. It was owned by its American parent company from 1984 to 2018. In September 2017, Toys "R" Us filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and closed all U.S. locations in June 2018. [1]
Ontario has 52 cities, [1] which together had in 2016 a cumulative population of 9,900,179 and average population of 190,388. [2] The most and least populous are Toronto and Dryden, with 2,794,356 and 7,749 residents, respectively. [2] Ontario's newest city is Richmond Hill, whose council voted to change from a town to a city on March 26, 2019. [3]
