Hansford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 5,285. [1] Its county seat is Spearman. [2] The county was created in 1876 and organized in 1889. [3] It is named for John M. Hansford, a Texas state congressman and judge. [4]

The Felix G. Hansford House was built in 1824 by Mr. Felix G. Hansford, president of the Giles, Fayette and Kanawha Turnpike Company. It is the oldest building in the town of Hansford, West Virginia. [2] The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [1] The house sat empty from the 90s and began falling apart.
