It includes 47 commercial buildings dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries that formed the core of Rapid City's early economy.
The Prairie Homestead is a sod house located at 21070 South Dakota Highway 240 north of Interior, South Dakota. [2] The house was constructed by Ed Brown and his wife in 1909. The Browns built their home with sod bricks and topped it with a grass roof.
The Watertown Commercial Historic District is a 22 acres (8.9 ha) historic district in Watertown, South Dakota. It is roughly bounded by First Ave. N., Third St. E., Second Ave. S., and First St. W. It includes works by Watertown architect Maurice A. Hockman. [2] It includes 69 contributing buildings and 47 non-contributing ones. [2]
