Frazee (/ freɪˈziː / fray-ZEE) is a city in Becker County, Minnesota, United States. It is the second-most-populous city in Becker County. The population was 1,335 at the 2020 census. [3] The community was originally named Detroit and later Third Crossing before adopting its name of Frazee.

Randolph Lafayette Frazee, for whom the city of Frazee was named after, was born in Hamden Ohio on July 3, 1841. He was the son of Ephraim and Margaret Petty Frazee, who were also natives of Ohio. The name apparently originated at Fraisse, France.

The City of Frazee became the first designated NCTA Trail Town in Minnesota in 2013. Incorporated in 1891, originally known as Detroit and then “Third Crossing,” Frazee was once home to the world’s largest sawmill, run by the Nichols-Chisholm Company.
