It’s okay to be real and a little irreverent and mostly vulnerable in this safe space. Deep down, I think there’s a little bit of that family in all of us. This blog has been a part of my family since 2008, which might make it an online antique at this point.
In 2010, our family founded a non-profit called Mercy House. The organization funds maternity homes in Kenya, created to aid pregnant girls living in extreme poverty. God built this house of mercy in the heart of Africa and it’s funded by moms and their families, people just like you.
We are THOSE people now. I don’t know if it was adding another child or a genetic mutation, but I know trouble is now a member of the family. In preparation for upcoming disaster, I’ve adopted a new theme.
With so many demands on our time, it is easy for us to lose sight of our purpose as a family and the love we share as a couple. When life is moving fast, it’s easy to focus on the time we don’t have. But when we focus on what we don’t have, we can overlook the moments that are right under our nose.
So we created three mini Resurrection Gardens. It was easy to make, everyone got to add their own touches and it cost pretty much the same as making one large one like the picture above. Supplies Needed: We found all of ours at WalMart and averaged about $7.50 per mini garden.

We are Extending Grace-Living by a bunch of strict rules and do’s and don’ts isn’t the answer. Being flexible with your own rules is not only necessary, it’s healthy for your family. And let’s face it, who doesn’t need extra grace? We are on the same team. We are Examples in our Mistakes-Ouch. This is the hardest.
