On PC and my main phone I use the Beetle Saturn Core in Retroarch. Mednafen is the most accurate Saturn emulator there is but the Retroarch core based on it is easier to use. Put the Beetle Saturn core and my actual Saturn in comparison on the same TV and the only way I'd be able to tell the difference is because I'd made the setup.
Mednafen - also known as the "Beetle" cores in RetroArch, offers excellent compatibility and near perfect visuals at the cost of extreme performance requirements (not just for Saturn but in general as well). Unfortunately for the RP3+, there's only enough power for the Yaba-based emulators, even the boot up animation lags on Beetle Saturn.
There are Five tabs that link directly to collections based on console and publisher, these include Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega, and the PC. There are also tabs for popular games and retro games, with retro games being defined as older than Gamecube and DS.
Hey guys! My sister purchased a Sega Saturn back in the day (Australia) and so I've been able to dump a BIOS as well as a game, but I simply cannot get it to run. I am using the latest Steam release of RetroArch and have installed the Kronos Saturn emulator DLC.

The standalone app is paid or free, depending where you grab it from. Here's the paid playstore link. Free GitHub link scroll down and download "Saturnemu" you must be logged in to download it. Sega Saturn Emulators (Important Info): RetroArch Sega Saturn Kronos Core Emulator: RetroArch is an all-in-one emulator, but has a very good Sega Saturn emulator called Sega Saturn Kronos. Sega Saturn emulation has come a long way over the years and we finally have a user friendly Saturn emulator that is easy to use and setup.
Hello and welcome once again to another guide. This time I picked SSF Emulator as the go for emulating Saturn titles. I had no issues so far with the emulator and it works wonders. However, for beginners, it may be confusing to set it up. That is why I made this guide. I may also write about Kronos in the future.
Saturn emulation is good. I prefer to play on the hardware because Saturn has so many unique peripherals. The twin stick, the 3D controller pad, stunner light gun, etc. Also, you could pick up a cheap Saturn on ebay, get a Pseduo Saturn cartridge and burn game discs, or mod a Saturn with a Fenrir, or pop in a Satiato, and play games off SD card.
The original Sega Saturn had a 2x CD-ROM, which had a data rate of 300KB/sec. Virtually any SD card will beat that. As far as ODEs are concerned, it doesn't really scale linearly. For instance, in this test , a copy of Real Bout Fatal Fury Special was compared using a Saturn CD drive, a UHS-3 class SD card (30 MB/s read rate) with a Satiator ...
Recently someone over on GBATemp figured out that all 3 games in the recently released "Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute" for Nintendo Switch are being handled through a currently unknown Sega Saturn emulator. Additionally the 3 standalone releases for "Cotton Boomerang", "Cotton 2", and "Guardian Force" are also using this emulator.
