Illinois Route 148 is a north–south state road in southern Illinois. It runs from Illinois Route 37 at Pulleys Mill (near the intersection of Interstate 24 and Interstate 57) north to the western terminus of Illinois Route 142 and Illinois 37 south of downtown Mount Vernon. This is a distance of 54.85 miles (88.27 km). [1]
The actual maps were drawn in the 1830s, but were based on the surveyors' notes from around 1800. The Lusk Ferry Road was a very old road, at least by Illinois standards, being present before the original survey. It is, however, notable that, on its northwestern end, this was a carefully surveyed road.

Interstate 80 (I-80) is a part of the Interstate Highway System that runs from San Francisco, California, to Teaneck, New Jersey.I-80 enters Illinois from Iowa in the west, southwest of Rapids City, and runs generally eastward through East Moline, LaSalle, and Joliet, before entering Indiana in Lansing.

Illinois 154 is the main east–west road through Pinckneyville. Just before intersecting Interstate 57 on the eastern end, it bridges Rend Lake. Illinois 154 has overlaps Illinois Route 13 and Illinois Route 148.
