The city is bounded by Davie to the north, Pembroke Pines to the south, both Hollywood and Davie to the east, and Southwest Ranches to the west. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.3 square miles (21.6 km 2), of which 8.0 square miles (20.8 km 2) is land and 0.31 square miles (0.8 km 2) is water (3.63%). Southwest Ranches is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States.It is a suburban community part of the Miami metropolitan area and is located on the eastern edge of the Everglades, 15 miles (24 km) southwest of Fort Lauderdale and about 22 miles (35 km) northwest of Miami.
