Gray's Anatomy for Students is an anatomy textbook inspired by the famous Gray's Anatomy (Grey's Anatomy) and aimed primarily at medical students. The textbook has been praised for its innovative illustration style, which emphasizes clarity and a conceptual approach to learning. [ 1 ]
The show's title is an allusion to Gray's Anatomy, a classic human anatomy textbook. [1] Writer Shonda Rhimes developed the pilot and served as showrunner, head writer, and executive producer until stepping down in 2015. [2] Set in Seattle, Washington, the series is filmed primarily in Los Angeles, California, and Vancouver, British Columbia.
Gray was born in Belgravia, London, in 1827 [1] [2] and lived most of his life in London. In 1842, he entered as a student at St. George's Hospital, London (then situated in Belgravia, now moved to Tooting), and he is described by those who knew him as a most painstaking and methodical worker, and one who learned his anatomy by the slow but invaluable method of making dissections for himself.
Carter began work for Henry Gray and others in 1852, and in 1856–1857 he drew the illustrations for the now famously illustrated Gray's Anatomy. The first meeting between the two authors of Gray's Anatomy occurred probably around 1850 while they were both working at St. George's School of Medicine.
