William L. "Bobby" Robinson (October 25, 1903 - May 17, 2002) was an American Negro league baseball player. He was known as the "Human Vacuum Cleaner" because of his fielding ability at third base. [1] Robinson started with the semi-pro Mobile Tigers with fellow Negro league players Satchel Paige and Ted Radcliffe.
A Kugelrohr (German for "ball tube") is a short-path vacuum distillation apparatus [1]: 150 typically used to distill relatively small amounts of compounds with high boiling points (usually greater than 300 °C) under greatly reduced pressure.
Other parameters to be taken in consideration are heat, cold, vacuum, pressure, exothermic reactivity and the inherent aggressive nature of the chemical (acids, caustic, etc.). Secondary containment is a back-up strategy sometimes used to mitigate potential failure of the primary container.
The vacuum bazooka uses a straight tube which is sealed with a type of 2 - 4 layers of aluminum foil at the muzzle and by the projectile at the breech. A tee-piece near the muzzle allows application of vacuum. When the projectile is released the air pressure behind the projectile causes it to accelerate towards the vacuum port.
Desulphated water flows to the top of the deaerator column, this operates at a partial vacuum (0.3 bara) sustained by the deaerator vacuum unit. The deaerator internals comprise three packed beds. Deaerated water is taken from the base of the deaerator by transfer pumps which deliver 1632 m 3 /hr at 3.6 barg to the degasser surge drum. [4]
The vacuum state, like all stationary states of the field, is an eigenstate of the Hamiltonian but not the electric and magnetic field operators. In the vacuum state, therefore, the electric and magnetic fields do not have definite values. We can imagine them to be fluctuating about their mean value of zero. [citation needed]

A siphon cup is the (hanging) reservoir of paint attached to a spray gun, it is not a siphon as a vacuum pump extracts the paint. [62] This name is to distinguish it from gravity-fed reservoirs. An archaic use of the term is a cup of oil in which the oil is transported out of the cup via a cotton wick or tube to a surface to be lubricated, this ...
