"Marlin made lever-action rifles but nobody ever had a Marlin in films or TV series. They were always Winchesters," said Ned Schwing, a firearms historian. Perhaps the company's greatest unofficial spokesman was President Teddy Roosevelt, who used the 1895 model on his famous 1909 African safari, which historians credited with boosting the sale ...
But Marlin's fans don't have to worry too much, apparently: “The Marlin brand and its great products will live on,” says Ruger President and CEO Chris Killoy. Looks good i paid 200 for it which seemed fair by what i seen online. The gf picked it up for me today and I will post pics when i get home and get my hands on it From Marlin's site:
A ballistics test. Realize that a .22 bullet of that type is traveling at about 1200 fps out of the barrel. Most likely 1150 at 30 yards and still near 1000 at 100 yards. W e determined in other penetration tests that the faster hyper rounds exploded inside the skull not exiting but really blowing the brain cavity up.
oil pan 4 Monkey+++. RMR bullets has .451'' 230gr FMJ 45acp bullets I think made by armscorp for 17 cents each for 500. Which isn't a great price, but no where near the gouge prices I have seen. I haven't seen any 45cal 230gr FMJs in months, besides gougers selling them. Handy for 45acp and 45colt.
