The first-generation iPod Touch, (colloquially known as the iPod Touch 1G, [1] iPod Touch 1, or original iPod Touch) is a multi-touch mobile device designed and marketed by Apple Inc. with a touchscreen-based user interface. The first device of the iPod Touch series, it was unveiled and released at Apple's media event on September 5, 2007.
In 2007, Apple modified the iPod interface again with the introduction of the sixth-generation iPod Classic and third-generation iPod Nano by changing the font to Helvetica and, in most cases, splitting the screen in half, displaying the menus on the left and album artwork, photos, or videos on the right.
