Hitman: Codename 47 is a stealth video game developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive exclusively for Microsoft Windows in November 2000, and the first entry in the series. In the game, players control Agent 47 , a genetically enhanced human clone who is rigorously trained in methods of murder.
The game was followed by a PlayStation-only sequel, titled X2 in 1996. A second sequel, Project X: Light Years, is currently in development.
