It's very pricey but exceptionally good. It's taken point-blank shots from .500S&W with less BFD than several other panels did with the NIJ tested .44 Magnum at a distance. Oh, and on the subject of point-blank shots. If you're going for concealable make sure you don't get laminated armor.

I am looking at picking up some level 3A soft, concealable body armor. I'd like something that is as light, comfortable and concealable as possible while still being good quality. I'd like to keep the price under $500 if possible but I am willing to spring for a bit more if it is really worth it. Thanks!
Body armor has improved significantly in protection from the original soft body armor introduced in the mid to late 70's. Second Chance was one of the very early if not the first to produce Kevlar based soft body armor. I would suggest modern IIA soft body armor, still realative concealable and protects against most threats except rifle cartridges.
Swedish m/39B for example is reported to defeat soft body armor with ease. It's a hot-loaded 9mm with a heavy mild steel jacket which prevents it from deforming. .357 magnum in a snub-nose revolver: velocity is your friend, short barrels are not. 10mm: with a copper or brass solid potent against soft body armor. 40 S&W: worse than 9mm
Concealed armor is not particularly fun or comfortable to sport around. I am not ready for casual wear. If I was feeling a need to wear it just to go out and mingle with the world I would be reconsidering my life choices personally. I concur with this summary. I have concealable armor.
