After working with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant as producer on their Xfm radio show, Pilkington became a co-host of The Ricky Gervais Show. He presented the Sky travel comedy series An Idiot Abroad and the Sky One travel comedy series The Moaning of Life.
Gervais began his stand-up career in the late 1990s. He has performed five multi-national stand-up comedy tours.
