Matthew Edward Patricia (born September 13, 1974) is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator at Ohio State University, a position he has held since 2025. [1] He previously served 15 non-consecutive seasons as an assistant coach with the New England Patriots , including six seasons as the defensive coordinator from 2012 to 2017.
Patricia, 50, had a 13-29-1 record during parts of three seasons (2018-20) with the Lions. He also served as a defensive assistant with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.
