Zhezkazgan, or Jezkazgan (Kazakh: Жезқазған, romanized: Jezqazğan (listen ⓘ)) is a city and the administrative centre of Ulytau Region, Kazakhstan. Population: 86,227 (2009 Census results); [2] 90,001 (1999 Census results). [2] Its urban area includes the neighbouring mining town of Satpayev, for a total city population of 148,700.
Official estimates put the population of Kazakhstan at 20,182,003 as of August 2024, of which 62.7% is urban and 37.3% is rural population. [13] In a report released by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) in September 2021, the level of urbanization in Kazakhstan is estimated to reach 69.1% by 2050.

Ulytau Region (Kazakh: Ұлытау облысы, romanized: Ūlytau oblysy; Russian: Улытауская область) is a region of Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the region is the city of Jezkazgan. The area split off from Karaganda Region in 2022.
