Supermercados Disco opened its first store in 1961 on Centenario Avenue in San Isidro, Buenos Aires. [4] In 1967, a Uruguayan family bought 50% of the Argentine brand's stock, increasing their interest to 100% in 1981. The Uruguayans retained ownership of Disco until 1984. [5]
