The Honda VT1100 is a motorcycle engine used in the Honda Shadow 1100 motorcycle line since its debut in 1985 until production ended in 2007. In this 22-year run, there were minimal changes. It is a liquid cooled, 1,099 cubic centimetres (67.1 cu in), 45 degree V-twin. It has a bore and stroke of 87.5mm x 91.4mm with an 8:1 compression ratio.
The Shadow Sabre was, at its introduction, the hot rod (or in motorcycle jargon, the street rod) of Honda's cruiser line. [5] As such, it has lower gearing than other 1100cc Shadows, for a stronger punch off the line, while retaining exactly the same (dual pin crank) engine as the others.
Honda brought out a new engine for the VT750C Shadow ACE in 1997 (the ACE or A.C.E. designation, for American Classic Edition, was used only in North America). The RC44E engine had its origin in the 600cc Shadow VLX 52-degree V-twin, enlarged to 750cc by means of a 4 millimetres (0.16 in) wider bore and a 10 millimetres (0.39 in) longer stroke ...

Although it was similar to the 1800, the 1300 was not the same engine with a smaller bore or shorter stroke, but a new design. [21] The 1300 engine used a 38 mm constant velocity carburetor unlike the fuel injected 1800. The single carb had a manual choke for cold starts, [22] and was heated by engine coolant to improve cold-weather operation ...
An indicator chart records the pressure in the cylinder versus the volume swept by the piston, throughout the two or four strokes of the piston which constitute the engine, or compressor, cycle. The indicator diagram is used to calculate the work done and the power produced in an engine cylinder [2] or used in a compressor cylinder.
The tach timer is usually used to schedule engine maintenance, although it is just an approximation of "Time in service" which is used to time and schedule aircraft maintenance. Time in service is defined in 14 CFR 1.1 [ 2 ] as the actual time in the air, whereas tach time measures engine revolutions, which would still count time on the ground ...
