The expected delivery date has changed three times already. It was Saturday the 29th (typo), then Monday the 31st, and now Wednesday the 2nd. I meant the 29th and then the 31st. And I called FedEx on Saturday at the end of the day and they said it simply didn't make it to my city, and that in transit doesn't necessarily mean the truck is moving.
Arrived at FEDEX location - Your package has arrived at the local depot. Its in a trailer or a pile and will be sorted, eventually. Left FEDEX origin facility - This means your package has been loaded onto a plane or trailer and is on it's way to the next hub. Your City - In Transit - The first misleading one. This one is actually telling you ...
A lot of people have their share of bad experiences with the USPS. - lost packages - damaged goods - denied insurance claims - long wait times - horrible customer service Share your stories, and we'll collectively try to help you. Please do not post full tracking numbers! It can be used to identify you.
Means it's in transit on it's way to you - probably severely delayed, but not totally lost. Keep in mind, if it's on a trailer, it does not necessarily mean the trailer is on a truck. Transit could also mean its buried in a warehouse waiting for someone to happen across it and scan it back in.
I can’t stay home everyday. I also just got off the phone with FedEx. They confirmed it’s still in Memphis. They also said the Memphis facility doesn’t operate on the weekend so there won’t be any updates till at least Monday. That kind of goes against FedEx’s official statement that they’re adding shifts to clear the backlog.

Now it's Monday, and still no movement. I got a case # and FedEx also promised that someone would call me back within 24 hours; that also didn't happen. I have received no useful info from FedEx customer support (e.g., an estimate of # items in the queue before me or some sort of realistic ETA would be great. But it's total radio silence now.
Customer/shipper at fault not FedEx I have a package I paid extra for Express Saver on to get it a few days earlier then standard shipping. So, seller sent it out and immediately the delivery date changed and went from 3 days to 5 days to after the weekend (So 3 days is Friday, then 5 days is Monday delivery).
I'm in the same boat and also located in the Bay Area. Mine has been stuck on "In Transit" in Kingman, Arizona for the last five days with the original expected delivery date of 12/7/21. My guess is both of our packages are at the Tracy FedEx Ground warehouse waiting to be scanned and sent on. That warehouse is often a shit show.
I thought the transit times were based on business days/Monday-Friday, but today on Saturday I've received multiple updates to a Freight shipment originating in CA that involve my shipment moving between FedEx Freight locations (Driver departed xxx location)
