Del Norte County / dɛlˈnɔːrt / (Spanish for "Of The North") is a county located at the far northwest corner of the U.S. state of California, along the Pacific Ocean adjacent to the Oregon border. Its population is 27,743 as of the 2020 census, down from 28,610 from the 2010 census.
Part of the county's territory went to Del Norte County in 1857, and in 1874 the remainder was divided between Humboldt and Siskiyou counties. Pautah County, California was created in 1852 out of territory which, the state of California assumed, was to be ceded to it by the United States Congress from territory in what is now the state of Nevada.

Requa (Yurok: Rekwoi) is an unincorporated community in Del Norte County, California. It is on the north bank of the Klamath River less than a mile (1.6 km) from its mouth, [2] at an elevation of 125 feet (38 m). Requa is a small town on the north bank of the Klamath River. The town was settled by Europeans in 1851 after prospectors arrived.
