Long Bay is the site of an extensive beach. The beach forms a part of the Long Bay Regional Park, while the surrounding shoreline is a part of the Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve. Long Bay is a suburb of the North Shore of New Zealand, and the northernmost suburb of the North Shore along the east coast of the Hauraki Gulf.
The regional park is adjacent to the Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve, a 980-hectare reserve extending from Karepiro Bay to Torbay. [1] The beach area is backed with sand dunes, which include restoration areas of pīngao and spinifex. [1]
