Gladys Cromwell (November 28, 1885 – January 19, 1919) was an American poet and Red Cross volunteer during World War I.Known for her introspective and melancholic poetry, Cromwell published works in prominent literary magazines and released a volume of poems titled "The Gates of Utterance and Other Poems" in 1915.
Sonia Sanchez (born Wilsonia Benita Driver; September 8, 1934) [1] is an American poet, writer, and professor. She was a leading figure in the Black Arts Movement and has written over a dozen books of poetry, as well as short stories, critical essays, plays, and children's books.
She also published a book of poetry with her sisters Charlotte and Anne titled Poems by Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell with her own poems finding regard as poetic genius.
