In October 2004, Pasir Ris West also saw the completion of Pasir Ris Elias Community Club. Portions of the Pasir Ris West (notably White Sands and Pasir Ris Park) were also carved ahead of the 2020 elections and formed the Pasir Ris Central division, in which Desmond Tan was the MP. [15]
In 1999, due to declining patronage, the cinema and arcade were closed and were replaced by retail outlets and the Pasir Ris Public Library (which opened in October 2000) respectively. The mall was sold to ARMF Pte Ltd in 2004. The mall did not undergo any major renovations until 2007, and its facade was repainted blue.

NTUC Downtown East is an entertainment hub located in Pasir Ris, Singapore. It is 147,000 square metres in area and was officially opened on 5 November 2000. It is run by NTUC club. It provides leisure and entertainment for families and youths. It competes with the two Integrated Resorts, especially Resorts World Sentosa.
The GRC comprises 5 constituencies: Pasir Ris Central, Pasir Ris East, Pasir Ris West, Punggol Shore as well as Punggol Coast managed by Pasir Ris—Punggol Town Council.
