A Sunday school, sometimes known as a Sabbath school, is an educational institution, usually Christian in character and intended for children or neophytes. Sunday school classes usually precede a Sunday church service and are used to provide catechesis to Christians, especially children and teenagers, and sometimes adults as well.
Primary provides Sunday teachings and church-related activities to approximately 1.1 million Latter-day Saint children. [1] In most congregations, a nursery class is available for children from 18 months to age 3. Classroom instruction begins for three-year-olds and continues to age 11, with classes grouped by age.
The Christadelphian Sunday School Union (CSSU) is an organisation which provides lessons, books, magazines and other services for Christadelphian Sunday schools and youth groups. [1] [2] The CSSU provides lessons both for the use of teachers, and also for distance education. Materials are divided for ages 3–6, 7–10, 11-14 and 14+.
In 1872, the Sunday School organization was renamed the Deseret Sunday School Union. The organized Sunday School addressed lesson topics and source materials, grading, prizes and rewards, use of hymns and songs composed by members of the church, recording and increasing the attendance, developing an elementary catechism , and libraries.

Around 1560, a wealthy Milanese nobleman, Marco de Sadis-Cusani, having established himself in Rome, was joined by a number of zealous associates, both priests and laymen, and pledged to instruct both children and adults in Christian doctrine.
